Best. Death. Ever.
I know my site claims the dog doesn’t die but, sad to say, in the real canine world, death comes all too often for our loved ones.
It came last week for Watson, a 14-year-old Labrador, whose family was renting our family cottage in Muskoka, Ontario. He spent the day on the island running around in complete freedom, swimming to his heart’s content, sniffing a million things – including my dog’s toys – eating (the best part of the day for any Lab) and then drifting off into a slumber from which he did not wake.
RIP Watson. I can’t think of a better way to go.
